THE MOST PENALTY MINUTES in a single NHL career were collected by Dave Williams in the seasons between 1974 and 1988. Bad Boy Williams sat out 3,966 minutes in the penalty box - almost three days and nights. William's namesake Dave Schultz, whose misbehaviour cost him 476 minutes while wearing a Philadelphia Flyers shirt in 1974-1975, holds the record for one season.
